Hinterland Moriac, Community Greenway approved October 2017
After months of negotiation between the local community, Surf Coast Shire, Barwon Water, and Ample, Hinterland Moriac has successfully agreed the delivery of a Greenway linear park and pathway through Moriac’s newest residential estate.
Hinterland Moriac will become the first lifestyle estate of its kind to develop in Moriac, and reception within the community and future residents has been overwhelming. The location alone and access to local amenities is appealing to young couples and families who want to make the area their home.
This is a huge win for the surrounding community, which will evolve into a 20,000sqm greenway that connects Hinterland to Newling Reserve – providing new recreational spaces for local residents.
Ample is extremely happy with the outcome and delighted to have worked closely with the parties involved to reach a conclusion that everyone can benefit from, especially the Moriac community.
“The 850-metre long Greenway will provide a beautifully landscaped, vehicle-free, pedestrian and bike-friendly connection to Moriac’s existing township and community services. This is a great win for the Moriac community and we sincerely thank Cr Heather Wellington, the Moriac Community Network, along with Barwon Water for their assistance in achieving the incredible outcome,” Ample released in a statement to the Surfcoast Times.
As part of the agreement, Ample will fund the delivery of the Greenway connection and they will also maintain the area for an additional two years after handing it over to the community.
Sales remain strong for Hinterland Moriac, with Stage 2 auctions almost sold out and only three allotments remaining. It is expected that acreage allotments will title mid to late 2018.
